STIMPod Neuromodulation Therapy in Colorado Springs

If you’ve been through massage, physical therapy, or rounds of medication and your nerve pain is still burning, tingling, shocking, or simply refusing to settle; the problem may not be the tissue around the nerve.

The problem may be the nerve itself. STIMPod therapy is a targeted neuromodulation treatment that works directly on dysfunctional nerve pathways, not just the soft tissue surrounding them.

At Wholistic Healing Experiences, we offer the STIMPod NMS460 as part of our advanced,
multi-system pain protocol for patients in Colorado Springs and the surrounding region.

What Is STIMPod? Why Is It Different?

Most electrical therapies, including TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) work by stimulating muscles or masking pain signals at the surface level. STIMPod NMS460 operates on an entirely different principle. It delivers a specialized waveform called trans-pulsed radiofrequency (tPRF), which travels along the nerve pathway itself rather than dispersing through surrounding tissue. That distinction matters enormously when the nerve, not the muscle or fascia, is the source of pain.

When a nerve is injured, compressed, or chronically irritated, it can enter what researchers describe as an energy crisis. The mitochondria inside nerve cells become depleted and can no longer sustain normal nerve firing. The nerve gets stuck in a loop of hypersensitivity, sending pain signals even when there’s no ongoing injury to justify them. The tPRF signal from STIMPod reaches into that nerve pathway and helps restore normal firing patterns, calm the abnormal activity, and support the nerve’s own metabolic recovery. It’s not blocking pain. It’s helping the nerve function correctly again.

What STIMPod Therapy Treats

Peripheral neuropathy is the burning, tingling, and numbness that often affects the hands and feet. This develops when peripheral nerves lose their ability to transmit signals accurately. STIMPod targets the specific nerve pathways involved, helping restore signal integrity rather than simply numbing the area.

Sciatica with a neurological component is different from sciatica caused purely by disc compression. When the sciatic nerve itself is irritated and hypersensitive, releasing the mechanical compression alone often isn’t enough, the nerve needs to be reset. That’s exactly what the tPRF waveform is designed to do.

Post-surgical nerve irritation is one of the most undertreated sources of chronic pain. After surgery, nerves in and around the operative site can become hypersensitive and begin firing in patterns that produce electric-shock sensations, burning, or persistent numbness. STIMPod addresses this directly by working on the dysfunctional nerve tissue, not just the healed surgical scar.

Occipital neuralgia and nerve-related migraines involve irritation of the occipital nerves at the base of the skull, which can trigger intense head pain, pressure, and light sensitivity. Because the source is neurological rather than muscular, STIMPod therapy can reach the root of the problem in a way that soft tissue work alone cannot.

Carpal tunnel and nerve entrapment syndromes cause symptoms because compressed nerves stop conducting properly. STIMPod therapy supports nerve recovery by restoring the metabolic environment inside the nerve. This means symptoms can improve even in cases where the entrapment has been longstanding.

Chronic pain with normal imaging is one of the most frustrating presentations a patient can receive. When your MRI and X-rays show nothing structurally wrong but you’re still in significant pain, the nervous system is often the missing explanation. Nerves can fire abnormally in the absence of any visible structural damage, and neuromodulation therapy addresses that directly.

STIMPod at Wholistic Healing Experiences: Part of a Complete Nerve-Healing Protocol

STIMPod therapy produces better outcomes when the rest of the nervous system is addressed at the same time. That’s where Wholistic Healing Experiences’ approach is genuinely different from what you’ll find anywhere else in Colorado Springs.

  • We begin with a functional neurology evaluation, which identifies the specific nerve pathways that are dysfunctional and maps how neurological imbalances may be contributing to your pain.
  • That information guides exactly where STIMPod is applied. The STIMPod treatment then directly resets the irritated nerve, calming abnormal firing and beginning the metabolic recovery process.
  • Medical massage addresses the soft tissue tension that may be compressing or further irritating the nerve, removing mechanical stress from the healing pathway.
  • And BEMER therapy, which uses pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) technology to improve microcirculation, is included free with every session. Because a nerve recovering from dysfunction needs robust blood flow to sustain that healing.

No other clinic in Colorado Springs combines all four of these tools into a single, coordinated protocol.

What to Expect During a STIMPod Session

A STIMPod session is straightforward and comfortable. A small, pen-shaped probe is placed directly on the skin over the affected nerve. No needles, no medication, no current through the muscle. The tPRF signal is delivered in short, controlled bursts. Most patients describe the sensation as a gentle tapping or mild pulsing. It is pain free.
Sessions typically run 15 to 30 minutes depending on the area being treated. Most patients begin noticing a change in their symptoms within 2 to 4 sessions, sometimes sooner. There’s no recovery time afterward; you can return to your normal activities immediately. For patients with chronic nerve conditions, a longer series may be recommended, and we’ll discuss realistic expectations with you at your initial evaluation.

Ready to Treat the Source?

If you’ve been managing symptoms in the tissue around the nerve without anyone ever directly addressing the nerve itself, there’s a reason your results have been incomplete. At Wholistic Healing Experiences, we’ll evaluate your specific nerve patterns, identify what’s driving your pain, and determine whether STIMPod therapy is the right fit for your case.

Call us at (719) 212-1336 to schedule your evaluation. We’re located at 1880 Office Club Pointe, Ste 301, in Briargate, Colorado Springs — and we accept VA referrals, workers’ comp, HSA/FSA, and personal injury/auto insurance.

STIMPod Questions

Is STIMPod the same as TENS?

No, and the difference is significant. TENS works by stimulating muscle tissue and using sensory interference to temporarily reduce pain at the surface level. STIMPod uses a tPRF (trans-pulsed radiofrequency) waveform that travels along the nerve pathway itself, targeting the nerve’s electrical activity and metabolic function. They operate through completely different mechanisms and are suited to different problems.

Is STIMPod therapy FDA-cleared?

Yes. The STIMPod NMS460 is FDA-cleared for neuromodulation. It is a regulated medical device, not a wellness gadget.

How many sessions will I need?

Most patients see meaningful improvement within 2 to 4 sessions. Chronic nerve conditions, particularly neuropathy or long-standing post-surgical nerve pain, may require a more extended course of treatment, which we’ll outline clearly after your evaluation.

Does STIMPod hurt?

Most patients feel nothing more than a mild tapping or pulsing sensation at the probe site. The treatment is well-tolerated, including by patients who are highly sensitive to pain or touch.

Can STIMPod help if other treatments haven’t worked?

If the nerve itself is the source of your pain, rather than the surrounding muscle or joint,  then yes, STIMPod may address what other treatments have consistently missed. Many patients come to us after physical therapy, chiropractic care, or medication have produced only partial relief. When nerve dysfunction is the piece of the picture that hasn’t been treated, neuromodulation is where things often begin to change.
